Irony and the increasing sense of government abandonment...

The tax demonstrations and increasing angst about government policies, such as bailouts, should come as no surprise.  Yet to many it is a shock.  Where have these folks been the last ten, twenty, thirty years?  Probably voting for the same political cronies that change suits with the wind resulting in the nasty partisanship that has gridlocked the U.S. political system for decades.

The difference now is that all those metaphorical chickens are coming home to roost...and the price we and future generations are going to pay will be staggering.  One had better mentally prepare for the series of shocks to come in the months and years that lie ahead.

But ask yourself the question: what has really changed?
