notes on the economic collapse to a youtube fan...

thanks for the note!  You certainly spell out some nasty scenarios and in a sense it is a roulette wheel...in the time period your company lost so much equity, many California companies have lost 50% or more...but then again, it was a bigger bubble here than in Tennessee.

The construction industry has ground to halt here...those that can't switch are trying to gut it out with little  success.   My guess is the money printing will stop/slow and this thing will drag on for years...the 'soft landing'.   Personally I would rather it hit the fan now and be over than to drag it out a decade or two like the Great Depression.   In this scenario, it won't be a full blown collapse but a long drawn out mess that will put things back in balance...ha....

I saw it 3 years or so back in business.   I was seeing the fundamentals of business shift and the inevitability that the economic model was shifting too...now, even small businesses have  to rethink/redo  their business models.   It's not that things won't go back to the way they were before...they can't.  The game has changed.   A venture capitalist I heard in Silicon Valley said things will bust up into millions of pieces and then reform...sort of like stars.   That metaphor keeps going through my head.

So for me, it's not so much an economic collapse as it is a total restructuring of the way business works.   Those that can't figure it out will simply vanish in a matter of months or years...

So, I think we can avoid a total collapse if we are willing to pay for this mess the next 10-20 years...maybe it's the same thing...ha!
